McCain Speech? or One Liner Grab?

advertisement

John McCain is not a bad person but you can't be President of these United States by running on a sincerity platform. I did not hear as much of a speech as I heard countless one liners that drew plenty of applause but precious little substance, that's like eating dinner with plenty vegetables but no meat. The republican party likes to say they are the party of Lincoln, no you are the party of George W Bush and 8 years of him was like eating all those vegetables and having very little beef. Do not allow your vote to become a part of the republicans so called "political capital", I recall how George W boasted of his political capital earned four years ago, and he promptly went out and spent it ruining our country. Last night John McCain had the stage and went out of his way to antagonize the Russians by accusing them of starting the conflict with Georgia. That sounds like fighting words at a time when our military is in need of regrouping, not deploying to another American made hot spot. As the balloons were popped last night and the convention came to its end, we'll now see if the McCain-Palin ticket has any bang or was it left on the floor with the streamers and other balloons that had hot air.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Thank you! He didn't offer anything in the way of specifics, merely platitudes, and tired ones at that!

Neither candidate has offered specifics!

The major parties have offered us no real leadership!

McCain is only the less of two evils.
